line

Membership in the University library is open to all categories of staff and students of the University. To be a registered member, readers must complete the library registration forms at the circulation desk. Readers on completion and return of these forms are issued with readers' ticket with his or her passport affixed after having been recommended by the readers' Head of Department and countersigned by the circulation Librarian.

This card entitles the reader to use and borrow books from the library. Library registration is valid for the current academic year only and must be renewed thereafter. Fees are charged for replacement of lost ticket. Other readers may be admitted only with the express permission of the University Librarian or the Head, Readers’ Services Unit.

Students are regular library users in the library. They are referred to as the customers of the Library and Information Centre. They are therefore registered at the inception of their program in the University after due library orientation has taken place. They have to submit their particulars so as to be registered in the library to become bonafide university library users. This registration admits them to borrow library materials and also to use the library facilities to the fullest. At the end of their programme in the university, all registered library users seek for clearance certificate from the University before their exit.
